The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) within the Australian Embassy in Manila, Philippines is a lead agency managing Australia’s international presence. DFAT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced person to fill the Senior Program Officer position in the Governance Section.
The Senior Program Officer (SPO) is responsible for contributing advice and technical inputs to the Portfolio Manager on broader governance issues, particularly on development entrepreneurship, political economy analyses, and institutional strengthening. The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience in and knowledge of development issues, including economic constraints, governance, institutional strengthening, civil society and political economy analysis. Demonstrated experience and skills in program management and aid delivery in the Philippine context is required.

Terms of Employment
The position is a locally engaged staff (LES), not an Australian Public Service position. The position is full time, with a permanent employment contract, based in the Australian Embassy Manila office. The successful candidate is expected to commence as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be entitled to leave, comprehensive health and group life insurance and other conditions as per the locally engaged staff conditions of service.
